Grupo de Ingeniería Química y Ambiental

Licenciado en Ciencias Químicas en 1990 y Doctor en Ciencias Químicas, especialidad en Química Industrial en 1995 por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, donde desarrolló su carrera docente desde 1991 hasta 2003, ocupando distintas figuras como profesor. Previamente realizó labor investigadora en el Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Metalúrgicas (CSIC) en el que disfrutó de una beca para tal fin. Realizó su estancia postdoctoral en el TNO Institute for Industrial Technology durante los años 1996 y 1997. Durante estos años sus líneas de investigación se centraron en el diseño de procesos para la recuperación de residuos de la industria metalúrgica y siderúrgica y en la conservación de bienes culturales soportados en papel.
En octubre de 2003 se incorporó a la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, donde es Profesor Titular de Universidad. Sus líneas de investigación en la actualidad se centran en la producción de hidrógeno en reactores de membrana, aseguramiento de flujo de crudos de petróleo y análisis de ciclo de vida aplicado a procesos de producción de energía. Es autor de más de 40 artículos publicados en revistas internacionales, más de 70 contribuciones a congresos nacionales e internacionales y de 4 patentes. Asimismo ha colaborado en 30 proyectos y contratos de investigación, 4 de ellos internacionales, financiados por entidades públicas y privadas, habiendo dirigido 8 de los mismos. Ha recibido el premio AETEPA al mejor trabajo de investigación en el campo de pinturas presentado al congreso EUROCOAT 94.
Actualmente es Director del Máster Universitario en Ingeniería de Procesos Químicos y Ambientales, Coordinador del Programa de Doctorado en Ingeniería Química y Ambiental en la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos y Presidente de la Comisión de Recursos de la Escuela Superior de Ciencias Experimentales y Tecnología
En cuanto a su actividad docente, ha sido profesor responsable de asignaturas desde el curso 1992/93, centrándose en materias relacionadas con la Química Industrial, Proyectos, Gestión Ambiental de la Empresa, Ecodiseño y Análisis de Ciclo de Vida. Asimismo, ha participado en 21 cursos o másteres para graduados.
