Grupo de Ingeniería Química y Ambiental

Mario Martín Gamboa es parte del personal docente e investigador de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos y tiene una Beca de Investigación de Atracción de Talento, bajo la convocatoria del "Programa de Atracción de Talento”, financiado por el Gobierno Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid. Mario Martín es Doctor en Tecnologías Industriales: química, medio ambiente, energía, electrónica, mecánica y materiales por la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Defendió su tesis titulada "Desarrollo y aplicación de métodos avanzados para la evaluación de la sostenibilidad de los sistemas energéticos" en noviembre de 2017. En 2014 obtuvo su título de Máster en Energías Renovables, Pilas de Combustible e Hidrógeno por el CSIC en colaboración con la UIMP. Además, Mario Martín tiene una licenciatura en Ciencias Ambientales por la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Su investigación principal es el desarrollo y la aplicación de metodologías avanzadas con perspectiva de ciclo de vida para la evaluación de sostenibilidad, teniendo en cuenta criterios ambientales, económicos, sociales y técnicos. Hasta la fecha, ha participado en más de 15 proyectos de investigación y contratos a nivel nacional e internacional. Además, ha publicado 24 artículos en revistas internacionales indexadas y más de 35 contribuciones en conferencias nacionales e internacionales. Además, ha sido codirector de una tesis doctoral dentro del Programa de Tecnologías Industriales de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos y ha participado en la dirección de tres Trabajos fin de Grado. Actualmente es el responsable de comunicación de la Red Española de Análisis del Ciclo de Vida (esLCA) y es “topical editor” de la revista internacional “International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health” (MDPI).

    Resumen : The development of light-driven technologies represents a RADICAL NEW WAY for the conversion and storage of renewable energy. The Project focuses on the successful development of a new concept of low-cost flow photo-reactor prototype for the reduction of CO2 and N2 to produce fuels and chemicals (CH4, C2H4, C3H6 and NH3) coupled to the oxidation of microplastics and organic pollutants from wastewater treatment plants. In order to reach these ambitious objectives, HySolChem investigates CO2 valorisation strategies, artificial photosynthesis, N2 fixation and degradation of water pollutants. The validation of the prototype is in a wastewater treatment plant and a study of the developed materials and devices from a life-cycle environmental, economic and social point of view is also carried out.
