María Ruiz Abad obtained her degree in Chemical Engineering (specialization in polymers) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 2016. Her final project was focussed on obtaining titanium dioxide from ilmenite by the chloride method. In 2017, she worked at Eli Lilly and Co. as a chemical engineer in the R&D department, carrying out research work in the field of mass transfer. Since March 2018, she holds the position of predoctoral researcher in the area of Chemical Engineering at Rey Juan Carlos University, where her research work focuses on hydrogen production systems through steam reforming, using various supported metal catalysts.
