Chemical and Environmental Engineering Group

He received his bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering at the National University of Colombia (2007). In 2012, he got a master’s degree in engineering, focused on environmental management at Andes University (Colombia) and also, he received a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2014. He got a Ph.D. in Applied chemistry at Autonomous University of Madrid (2019). The topic of PhD thesis was “Valorization of sewage sludge by hydrothermal carbonization coupled with anaerobic digestion”. He has carried out a research stay at the University of Nevada, Reno (EE.UU.).
In 2007, he worked in a brewery located in Bogota (Colombia), focusing on wastewater treatment processes and waste management. He has participated as researcher in 10 private and/or public projects. He is co-authored 6 referred papers in scientific journals and 2 book chapters. He has supervised 2 Master Theses and 2 Bachelor Final Projects.
