Research

Our research work is focused preferentially in the area of catalysis and adsorption for environmental and energy applications. We are currently working at 10 research lines and, in the last 5 years, we have published 246 papers in international scientific journals.

Staff

Our group is currently formed by 167 people:  20 full professors, 28 associate professors, 8 post-doctoral researchers, 69 PhD students and 23 laboratory technicians, and a considerable number of undergraduate students who are initiated in active research.

Who are we?

The Rey Juan Carlos University was created by law (LAW 7/1996, July the 8th) in 1996. Two years later, in 1998, the Chemical Engineering Degree and the Technical Industrial Chemistry Degree were approved.

The activity of the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Group of the Rey Juan Carlos University started in October 1998, begining with the teaching in both degrees. One year later, the second study years of these two degrees was added, allowing the group to grow and initiate its research activity. During the following years, the Higher School of Experimental Sciences and Technology (ESCET) incorporated new professors to face the increasing teaching load in the different degrees, allowing at the same time to reinforce the research activity by creating new research topics and deepening in the alreasdy existing ones.
